Starting at any one of our Fisherman's Wharf locations, beginner to experienced riders will be thrilled to travel East along the city's majestic waterfront. Along the way, circle around the historic Municipal Pier, climb through Fort Mason, and cruise past the stately bayside homes of the Marina. Nestled between the Marina and Presidio neighborhoods lay one of the city's historic jewels, the Palace of Fine Arts. Visit the architectural gods and angels of the awe-inspiring rotunda, as you traverse the lagoon and fountains of this celebrated gem. Be sure to check out the nesting swans that migrate here every spring to lay their eggs.
Crissy Field is next on the biking adventure, home to restored marshlands, wide bike path and grassy knolls perfect for picnicking. The Golden Gate Bridge and Bay views from here are expansive and the area has many stops including the Warming Hut cafe, just off the Torpedo Wharf Fishing pier. Next is the unused military lookout at Fort Point, positioned beneath the Golden Gate Bridge. The view from here is well-known for inducing a case of vertigo (ahem, Hitchcock)!
The ride peaks with the amazing ride across the Golden Gate Bridge on a wide bike path with spectacular Pacific and Bay views. Riders coast two miles downhill into sunny Sausalito- the charming seaside village home to endless cafés, art galleries and restaurants. Ferries graciously escort riders with bikes back to San Francisco riders, or ambitious riders can ride back and hopefully catch a California sunset!
