Once you’ve explored San Francisco’s most fascinating landmark on an Alcatraz Prison Tour, hop on a bike to enjoy the coastline the surrounds it. Your bike tour begins in Fisherman’s Wharf, one of the last true wharfs of its kind left in America before taking off towards the Golden Gate Bridge. We’ll follow a fun and easy course along the coast, where you’ll spot sea lions, wind organs, and the old military fort in one of San Francisco’s most coveted neighborhoods. Our path takes us up and over the Golden Gate Bridge, where you can snap the perfect photo with the towering orange bridge above and the city skyline in the back. Once over the “International Orange”, coast downhill into sunny Sausalito where you’ll bring your bike aboard the ferry for a scenic ride back to the wharf.

Follow our recipe for the perfect San Francisco day with a morning Alcatraz tour and sunset ride over the Golden Gate Bridge. As the sun starts to dip, we’ll hug the coast past the famous San Francisco piers, Crissy Field and Fort Point on our way to the bridge – the city’s most loved landmark. You’ll see the city at its best, as the sunset paints the skyline with picture-perfect shades of purple, orange and pink. Snap photos along the bridge as we pedal the West/Ocean side, which is open strictly to cyclists at this time of the day. We’ll sum up the perfect sunset with the “road less traveled,” biking past 17th century monuments and sites before wrapping up a magical tour.

Start your day with an Alcatraz Tour, before biking through Golden Gate Park!
Head to the expansive Golden Gate Park after your Alcatraz Prison Tour to explore over 1000 acres of bike paths and gardens. You’ll pedal past the Conservatory of Flowers, Arboretum/Botanical Gardens, Shakespeare Garden and Japanese Tea Gardens before circling Stow Lake and Strawberry Hill. We’ll teach you some of the area’s rich history, including its ominous past of haunted ghost stories. On the Western edge of the park, you’ll get to see the famous Ocean Beach, with its wild surf, long, oceanfront bike path and sweeping sand dunes. Then we’ll head back through the park for a final dose of greenery before the tours end.
