Experience the magic of San Francisco Bay at Aquarium of the Bay, where 20,000 aquatic animals are waiting to greet you.

  • Walk through massive tunnels of sharks, bat rays, and swirling schools of anchovies; get a hands-on experience touching sea stars, anemones, bat rays, and sharks; and delight in the antics of our three playful North American river otters. There are unique programs for visitors every hour from Shark Feeding, River Otter Feeding, Bat Ray Feeding, to talks about Octopus, Sharks, and Tidepools! Our interpretive naturalists are always nearby to answer your questions and guide you through hands-on animal encounters. 
  • Exhibit Highlights
      1. Beauties of the Bay. The most colorful animals in San Francisco Bay, including the bright orange Garibaldi (California State Marine Fish), green Moray Eels, and rockfish of varying colors. 
      2. Mesmerizing Jellies away your arrival upon entering under the Bay. Ambient lighting sets the mood to enjoy these beautifully hypnotic invertebrates. Front and center is a 725-gallon cylinder tank displaying moon jellies, while a wall-mounted 740-gallon tank showcases the pacific sea nettles. 
      3. River Otters. Arguably the cutest creatures we have in our facility. The gallery houses four river otters. Shasta who was saved from the Louisiana fur trade, Ryer, Baxter, and the youngest Tahoe
