Choosing a bike depends on the type of ride you are looking for. The most popular bike for casual, round-the-bay trail touring is the comfort hybrid. The second most popular bike is the comfort mountain. For advanced rides up to Mt. Tamalpais a performance bike is recommended, while riding through the Marin Headlands might require a MTB. Please consult our staff during check-in if you have any questions regarding your preferred route and which bike to choose, we are happy to accommodate a bike change from your original reservation.
Helmets, front camera bags, bells, maps & map holders, water bottle holders, locks, and detailed map assistance are included with your Bay City Bike rentals! With the higher-end bikes- going long distances- they come with tube, pump and tools to fix flats.
Yes, you can pick-up a bike rental at one location and drop-off at a different one. We charge a $10 restocking fee; many people ride from our Golden Gate Park location to Fisherman’s Wharf and vice versa.
