This iconic bike tour begins in San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf – one of the only true wharfs of its kind left in America! From there, your journey follows the curve of the coast to see sea lions, the military fort and the city’s best view of the bridge. You’ll bike over the Golden Gate Bridge for priceless views of the area’s unique topography and skyline. Once over the”International Orange”, coast downhill into sunny Sausalito, where you’ll hop on a ferry with your bike in tow for an easy ride back to the wharf.

The tour departs daily at 10am. We ask for all guest to arrive at least 30 minutes early in order to complete their paperwork and get fitted to their bike. The tour will take 2.5-3 hours as you are guided along the San Francisco waterfront, across the Golden Gate Bridge and into sunny Sausalito. The tour departs from our Fisherman’s Wharf Tour Center, located at 2661 Taylor Street.

The tour costs $65 (ages 12 and older) and $45 (ages 11 and under.) We also have an electric bike option that is $85 (ages 13 and older.)

The tour starts in Fisherman’s Wharf and rides along the beautiful homes and marina waterfront. As you ride through the Golden Gate National Recreation Area you will see the Presidio and Crissy Field. There is a bathroom / coffee break along the way, and then you continue up to the Golden Gate Bridge. You will cross the majestic Golden Gate Bridge (with plenty of stops for pictures) and ride down into Sunny Sausalito where the tour concludes. Riders are then free to enjoy the quaint town of Sausalito, grab a bite to eat, and check out the quirky shops. When you are ready to come back you can bring your bike back on the ferry and return to San Francisco (ferry ticket sold separately.) We also offer a paid bike drop off in Sausalito for those who wish to leave their bikes there.

Absolutely! In fact, after the guided tour ends you may enjoy a free, bonus bike rental for the rest of the day. Helmets are always included complimentary and we highly recommend all riders wear one.

This is a beginner to intermediate tour and is suitable for all ages. We offer a variety of kid’s equipment in order to ensure that everyone is safe and comfortable on this tour (we have tag-alongs, child seats, trailers, and independent kid’s bikes.) When you arrive to check in for your tour, we will get you fitted to the bike that suits you best.

Electric bikes are not necessary but very helpful! They are pedal assist bikes that give you a boost as you go uphill/while you ride. It is certainly doable without the electric bike, but there are a few hills along the way. Those who use an electric bike will be able to zip up the hill with no problem! 

A self-guided tour includes an all day bike rental, with route guidance by our team of local experts- who will show you all the best photo opportunities and places to stop. We include a free detailed handlebar map or you can download the route to your phone at the shop prior to departing. In addition to the aforementioned, a guided tour includes a professional tour guide and many stops along the way, where you will learn all of the rich history and culture about each of our unique city neighborhoods. Guided tours also include a bonus all day bike-rental after the guided tour concludes. Both Self-Guided and Guided tours include rear bike rack, bungee cords, bike bell, front handlebar bag, helmet, and lock. 

Normally there are ferries running 7 days a week back from Sausalito and Tiburon multiple times a day. During covid 19,the ferry runs Friday-Sunday at 12:30, 2:30, and 5:30pm. 

Yes, we have a drop-off station in Sausalito where you can leave the bikes and we pick them up for you, for a fee. It is not booked in advance but does require you to have a phone to call us when ready to drop off in Sausalito. Please inquire with one of our team members or your tour guide for more information, or to be shown where the drop-off station is, when you check in for your tour.
