We did the guided Golden Gate Bridge tour, and it was awesome! The bikes were good, we all got helmets fitted securely -- and most of all, our tour guide, Ryan, was excellent. Just such a nice person, he knew a lot about the bay area, and really made the ride from Fisherman's Wharf to Sausalito a joy. Highly recommended!

Fantastic Family Experience with Bay City Bike!

Our family had an amazing time with Bay City Bike. From the moment we arrived, Marcus and Richard were incredibly welcoming and made sure we felt completely comfortable before setting off. We hadn’t been on bikes in a while, but they patiently explained how everything worked and gave us the confidence we needed to enjoy the ride.

What really made the experience special was how great they were with our son and daughter. Not only did they ensure the kids were set up properly on their bikes, but they also took the time to chat with them, crack jokes, and make them laugh, turning the whole experience into a fun adventure rather than just a bike ride. It was wonderful to see our kids having such a great time, thanks to Marcus and Richard’s enthusiasm and kindness.

They also pointed out the best routes and photo spots, making sure we didn’t miss any of the incredible views San Francisco has to offer. The bikes were top quality, and the service was outstanding from start to finish.

We highly recommend Bay City Bike for anyone looking for a fun, family-friendly way to explore the city. A huge thank you to Marcus and Richard for making our day so special—we’ll definitely be back!

My husband and I took an e-bike city tour, and Adam was our tour guide. He was very knowledgeable about the city and took us to various areas during the tour. At the end, he showed us the way to ride the bikes to the Golden Gate Bridge. It was a wonderful experience!

Booked with these guys in advance, for 2 adults & 2 kids. Great communication in advance over email and fixed us up with an upgrade from a child’s bike to an adult with no issues. We were well kitted out, with the bikes in great condition, helmets, locks, maps & comprehensive guide and walk through before we set off! We booked our ferry tickets in advance too, which saved time Sausalito - a real hidden gem! Our rental started at 9am, although you can power through there is so much to see, places to stop & do entroute to the Golden Gate Bridge, taking a full days rental was justified when we rolled back into the shop at 3:30!

This is an excellent option to explore the city on your own. We went from this location until we reached the Golden Gate and back. We also went through downtown and the Embarcadero area. It was not necessary to hire a guided tour, but you have that option. The employees were very friendly and explained all the available routes in detail. The prices are quite reasonable since they are located in a tourist area. It is highly recommended.

These guys are awesome! Especially Sean. We actually had reservations closer to the Wharf; but stopped to check with them. Shawn was so friendly + helpful; so nice gave us great pro tips for routes + touring. Bonus Surprise- the prices were alot less than the Wharf.

What a wonderful tour! Adam was a fantastic tour guide. His level of detail was amazing! Word of caution - if you are not an experienced cyclist, choose the e-bike - there are some hills and they can be challenging. But a beautiful way to appreciate this fantastic city and a well-recommended tour!

Our guided tour to Sausalito, over the Golden Gate Bridge was excellent, the pace was perfect for our ability and Ginger was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable about sites along the route, advice about restaurants etc…. In Sausalito and info about how to get the ferry back. The staff back at the bike pick up / drop off were great too, efficient and courteous. A thoroughly great day out.

Fantastic tour of San Francisco by Adam who’s a legend. Worth every penny and the extra free rental was amazing to see the bridge and Sausalito. 40KM and feel great!

EXCELLENT service and tour guide! We had a phenomenal experience with Bay City Bikes - great rental, fitting, and return experience. Our tour guide Adam could not have been more knowledgeable and shared interesting and relevant information. The bike ride was amazing! Would 100% recommend if wanting to bike the Golden Gate Bridge.

Stefan was fab! We had a great experience with Stefan when we hired bikes for the day to cycle over the Golden Gate Bridge. He explained the route clearly and gave us great recommendations.

Separate to this, wouldn’t recommend buying ferry tickets through Bay City Bikes. They charged $3 more per ticket, and it’s easy enough to pick them up at the port.

Ginger was a great guide! She was very informative, conscientious, and funny. We had a beautiful sunny day to ride but Carl (the fog) blocked a lot of the views of the bridge. It's the first time I have been on an ebike and can't wait to take another tour on one. They are fabulous. Bay City gave us great bikes, took time to teach us about them and let us take a test ride before we started. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend Bay City to get an up close look at San Francisco. Thank you!

Golden Gate Bridge tour We loved the tour which was made by the delightful Ginger. She was informative, helpful, considerate and entertaining and made the whole experience for all of us. Thank you Ginger!
The e-bikes were easy to use and made the cycling (and the couple of inclines) a breeze. I would recommend this tour to anyone.

Adam is the best tour guide! We scheduled a "Streets of San Francisco Tour" with Bay City Bikes, and I would highly recommend this tour/outfitter/company to anyone. It's so conveniently located at the end of the cablecar line, the staff is super friendly, and Adam was a fantastic tour guide! He was truely passionate about the city, it's history, it's art and its future. He's also incredibly well informed. We saw the city from a point of view you just can't get on a bus or a car or even walking. By a stroke of luck no one else was scheduled and we had an excellent, personalized, private tour. Electric bikes made the city aproachable despite those crazy hills!

Golden Gate Bridge bike ride Great tour - Adam, our guide, was great and very knowledgeable on the local area (and beyond!) We got electric bikes which made the ride very easy so we could take in the scenery.

Great tour with Eli 1st trip to California and San Francisco. We took the Golden Gate Bridge tour with Eli. He's a great ambassador for the city with great knowledge that he shared on various stops along the tour. We loved the city and our only regret was that we had only one day to spend there. It was fleet week when we were there and had the amazing bonus of seeing the Blue Angels performing over the bay on the ferry ride back!

Absolutely Awesome, no kidding! Fantastic tour!!! I was the only one who rode back rather than ferry back, glad I did (My tour guide was also amazing, he was like a Historian... (turns out he studied History in college, Ha!!) ..... It was so amazing I rented the same E-bike and did it AGAIN the following day and did the whole tour-route again including exploring the Presidio, Baker and China Beaches, Lands End and over to Sausalito again... There is absolutely no comparable way of seeing that much even if you had a car there...

Such a great experience The staff / owners of Bay City Bikes were super friendly and easy to get on with. Helped us with our bikes and safety helmets and made us feel at ease for our cycle around the marina area and the bridge.

This is the way to see a new city! Steve was a great guide & took us in areas that you would never see on a bus tour. This is a 4 hour tour with a 30 minute rest to grab something to eat. I was a little hesitant because of the large hills in San Francisco but with the electric bike, it was easy & enjoyed the whole trip. Great trip for your first day here, you learn so much about the area & you get restaurant advice. Great job Steve you made our trip special.

Fantastic Bike Tour with Adam We took the "Streets of San Francisco" tour with Adam for 4 hours. The electric bikes were wonderful to have on the hills. I did not have to exert myself at all. The tour guide Adam did a great job explaining the sights and telling the group about the back story of all the attractions, buildings, history of the city. I highly recommend this tour.

Fun and Informative Tour The next day, we took a bike tour of Golden Gate Park. Our guide, Adam, was polite, informed, and fun. We learned a lot while on the tour. After the tour, we kept out bikes and explored the Haight-Ashbury area and beyond on our own. Great day
