An all day bike rental is the best way to explore all the neighborhoods and sites of the city. Our salesman was friendly and very helpful. The price for an all day rental was excellent. The bikes were comfortable and provided maps and locks.. I would highly recommend this company.

Booked online and needed to change our reservation due to weather. No issues which was great. Arrived the next day and had a private tour with Marcus who was amazing! A ton of area knowledge, had answers to so many of our questions and he even took some photos of me and the husband. His restaurant suggestion in Sausalito was also a hit. Super happy we booked here 🙂

I and my wife took electric bike tour to Sausalito via Golden Gate Bridge on Monday, Oct. 27/25. Leader was Ryan and we could not have had a better match for our curious minds. Ryan provided not only formal descriptive information about places we travelled through, but also information about life in San Francisco, about experiences of young people, many other aspects of living here. Tour was fantastic. Us being in early retirement age, he geared speed and moves to our abilities. Everything was safe, no stress, just big smiles on our faces when we arrived in Sausalito. Highly recommended for all. Ryan will accommodate needs of all types. And now hardware - bikes were almost new, no problems, very asy to operate.

Never before had we experienced the joy of gliding along on an E-Bike, and we’re so glad we chose Bay City Bike Tours for our first ride! The set-up was friendly, simple, and we were on our way in no time.

It was a little wet at times (classic San Francisco – always have your coat handy!), but our guide Ryan Coats made it such a fun and entertaining experience. He led us along the promenade, across the Golden Gate Bridge, and through local neighbourhoods where we admired the city’s incredible architecture and some festive Halloween decorations – from giant skeletons to vast spider webs!

Crossing the Golden Gate Bridge was an unforgettable highlight, with amazing views and fascinating stories from Ryan, who clearly knows the area well. We finished in Sausalito, where we had the rest of the day to explore at our own pace before returning the bikes at 7:30 pm.

If you’re visiting San Francisco, this is an absolute must-do activity. Rewarding adventure with beautiful sights, and an unbeatable way to see the city!

Our guide was very knowledgeable and the bikes were tuned perfectly. We enjoyed the tour immensely. However, all the guides must make it clearly known which ferry line to take for the return trip. We wasted money buying the wrong tickets, and so did two other people from our group and two from another tour group. We should have been told to buy the tickets online with an app or on the boat, not at the kiosk. Wasted money.

Adam from, Bay City Bike, was absolutely fantastic! He didn’t just show us San Francisco — he brought it to life. His deep knowledge of the city’s history, architecture, and hidden stories was matched only by his genuine passion for sharing it. Every stop came with fascinating details, fun anecdotes, and insights that made us see the city in a whole new way.

What really stood out was how engaging and enthusiastic he was — you could feel how much he loves this city, and it made us on the tour excited to learn more. He was warm, funny, and patient with questions, and he tailored the experience perfectly for my husbandand I.

We had an amazing experience with Bay City Bikes! We got to see so much of San Francisco and rode across the Golden Gate Bridge, which was unforgettable. Our tour guide, Ryan, was fantastic—super knowledgeable, personable, and fun. He made the whole ride enjoyable and was so encouraging and patient with my mom, who was really nervous about crossing the bridge. Thanks to him, she felt confident and had a great time. The electric bikes worked perfectly and made the ride so much easier. We’re so glad we chose Bay City Bikes and would highly recommend them!

Seven of us did the San Francisco Golden Gate to Sausalito bike tour. Our tour guide, Ryan, was very engaging and shared interesting history and facts about the areas we were in. The ride was mostly flat, but there were a couple of very challenging climbs. Ryan was great about waiting for all and keeping us entertained while we caught our breath before continuing the tour. We ended in Sausalito. The tour company came to the inn where we were staying and picked up the bikes for an additional fee of $25/bike. All in all a very enjoyable experience.

Ryan gave us a fantastic bike tour throughout San Francisco into salsalito.It was an excellent time plenty of information about all the areas we visited and some beautiful phototals as well.I highly recommend ryan as a tour guide!!

I had had a fantastic bike tour with Ryan today! His guidance, knowledge of the area, and passion shone through as we learned about the history of SF and the local history as well. He gave lots of recommendations of things to do and see following the tour, and I really appreciated the guidance. Ryan was a knowledgeable and engaging guide and I can’t recommend this tour enough, it’s a great way to see San Francisco and learn a lot!

Today we had a guided tour with our guide Ryan, we had solid bikes and a nice route over the Golden Gate Bridge. Ryan told us some nice history about SF and some nice places to go during our stay.

We had such a wonderful experience! Everything was perfectly organized and the staff treated us incredibly well from start to finish. Our guide, Ryan, was absolutely fantastic — super friendly, attentive, and made the whole tour even more enjoyable. Riding through the city with him was both fun and informative. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone visiting and looking for a great bike tour!

We had a great time with our tour guide Ryan - who was very knowledgeable and kind throughout the tour! We are a big loud family and he made the experience great as we chatted and learned about San Francisco. We had a large age gap from 22-63 within our grouping and all managed this ride. When we first saw the hills driving in we got a bit nervous, but nothing on this tour is overly taxing. Some of our grouping are not the most athletic in the world and the route/sites/stops kept the experience perfectly timed and paced. Biking over the Golden Gate Bridge was a treat. We opted to take the ferry back from Sausalito and I think that was the best way to go to enjoy everything that the charming town has to offer. Definitely a worthwhile experience for all ages!

Totally awesome experience with Ryan from Bay City Bike Rentals. He was helpful and informative. The ride over the Golden Gate Bridge was awesome inspiring. Cannot recommend it enough. Also recommend the E- bike if you’re not a regular rider.

From the beginning of the experience at the counter this was good. The check-in process easy. The representative was helpful answering all my questions even walking my 12 yr old grandson and me, through the trip on a wall size map. That gave me a good overview of what to expect.
Alex, our Guide was also very helpful. He got us fitted to our bikes and then we were off. The trip takes you through the streets to the bike path. He rude, slow enough that we could easily keep up with him. The hardest part, and the one that I was concerned about were the hills. I’m in pretty good shape for 67 so I wondered if I was going to be able to make it up the hill without walking the bike. It was tough, but I did it. My grandson had no problem. Alex was very knowledgeable at each of the stops explaining the historical significance of various points of interest like Crissy Field. It was quite an interesting lesson on the history of San Francisco.

The bridge was very visible that day, which was really nice. If you want to see the bridge, I would make sure you check the weather and try to go at a time when the fog isn’t covering the bridge.
We made a couple stops on the bridge to take pictures and just take in the view. The ride from the bridge down to Sausalito was interesting to you riding on the road and it’s all downhill and then you get into Sausalito, which is acquaint Little town.
The guy recommended taking the ferry back to wharf or to 39 and so we did that and it was all around a great experience thank you. I would do it again.

This is a perfect fast and easy « plug-and-bike » experience: you book online, you take the bike and you enjoy crossing the Golden Gate which is a must!

Ryan was a great guide. Knowledgeable and funny. Easy to talk to. Have to take one star off though only because we ended up with a flat tire on the way to Tiburon. We didn’t know that was outside their “rescue” zone so we had to walk the bikes a couple of miles to the ferry.

My Dad and I did a toured bike ride with Ryan, and it was amazing! Ryan was very kind and talkative, giving us wonderful overviews of the San Francisco and Sausalito area! would highly recommend asking for Ryan if you plan on biking with Bay City Bike Company!

We did the guided Golden Gate Bridge tour, and it was awesome! The bikes were good, we all got helmets fitted securely -- and most of all, our tour guide, Ryan, was excellent. Just such a nice person, he knew a lot about the bay area, and really made the ride from Fisherman's Wharf to Sausalito a joy. Highly recommended!
